Success Matters

Today was quite interesting. I was listening to talk radio while on my way to a meeting as usual. The subject was on “How do you measure success?" There were several callers bragging on their success and how they finally made it. Clearly, they measured their success on objects those material things that they purchased. Now, there were other callers that had fallen on hard times due to the bad economy. Equally, they were anxious to get back into the workforce and claim that same level of success they once had. Needless to say, I was quite taken by the callers along with the subject matter itself. Wouldn’t you?

Now, for the sake of argument, I don’t believe you measure success by how many cars you have or clothes and shoes you can buy. Although, it’s ok to purchase those items but it doesn’t necessarily make you successful. You can have all the money and success in the world and still your life and household may not be in order. Right?!

Your success should be measured by your leadership in your household and your community. I believe you can be successful in raising a healthy-stable family, working in your community and giving back to those that are less fortunate. Truly, this is the measure of success.

Given the recession we’re now living in - there are so many people that are jobless. Don’t think that it couldn’t happen to you. Manage your life, money and time wisely.

-Stay fabulous!
